JCI Authorization
Notice of JCI Certification Renewal at Yao Tokushukai General Hospital
We are pleased to announce that on December 1, 2023, Yao Tokushukai General Hospital successfully renewed its Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, which is the most rigorous medical facility evaluation organization in the world.
JCI was established in 1994 as the international division of the U.S.-based healthcare facility evaluation organization, the Joint Commission. Currently, approximately 1,000 healthcare institutions in more than 70 countries are accredited. The headquarters is in Chicago, with branches in Milan, Dubai, and Singapore. JCI is a globally trusted non-profit organization. It sets the most stringent standards to maintain healthcare quality and patient safety, and its accreditation criteria are highly regarded worldwide.
JCI accreditation renewal reviews are conducted every three years, and the evaluation criteria become even stricter with each renewal. This process ensures that healthcare facilities must continually meet the world’s cutting-edge standards.
During the renewal evaluation, a wide range of criteria, including patient safety, infection control, facility management, and collaboration among medical teams, were rigorously assessed. Our entire staff worked together to meet these standards, allowing us to receive international recognition once again. The renewal of our certification demonstrates that we continue to provide high-quality healthcare and patient safety, while striving for ongoing improvement.
Yao Tokushukai General Hospital will continue to aim to maintain a medical environment where we can provide safety and trust to our patients as a leader in regional healthcare.
